The liberation of the Kherson region began from these villages: Petrivka, Osokorivka
In mid-February 2024, the NGO UFA conducted a mission to the de-occupied Kherson region. We came to the people, and they smiled at us. It was a wonderful trip to the Bright Hearts.
This travel would not have been possible without our partners! Thank you to Candor Place, Khvylya Zdorovya, and Wedenska Gymnasium #107 for fuel, water, and food packages, respectively. We appreciate your contribution!
Two small villages in the liberated part of the Kherson region:
📍 Osokorivka stands on the west bank of the Dnipro River, downstream from Nikopol. People used to live here happily, but the Russians came. There were very intense battles in the village. After the area was demined, we visited the town with a humanitarian mission at the locals’ request.
This is what Osokorivka looks like now:
- There are no surviving houses
- No drinking water
- Everywhere are traces of fighting and destruction
Still, Ukrainians are returning to live in their native land. And, of course, we helped them from the bottom of our hearts. But to be there and see everything with your own eyes hurts.
📍 Petrivka is another village on the right bank of the Kherson region, located 10 kilometers west of Osokorivka.
The picture is similar. The only difference is that the center of the village was hit harder. There was a place where the Russian military set up their headquarters.
The good news is that Petrivka is alive again! Quite a few people have returned to the village, including young families with children, and they are gradually starting to rebuild houses.
Life is returning to Petrivka! It is also returning to Osokorivka, along with humanitarian aid from our partners. Thank you!
Again, we are appealing to you, dear community, to donate to us for a prosperous Ukraine!
Your help is essential! Each contribution brings our victory closer.
